Greetings, Union Parents and Family Members
Welcome to the Parents Web site, which we hope will be a valuable resource for you throughout the year. Here you can find answers to frequently-asked questions, information about visiting your Union student, and details about opportunities to get involved through the Parent Association or to support Union through the Parent Fund.
We enjoyed seeing many of you during Homecoming & Family Weekend on Oct. 30-31. If you haven't seen them yet, check out our photos from the weekend.
While on campus, you may have noticed the fall foliage that makes the College more beautiful than usual this time of year, and perhaps also the bustling construction under way between the F.W. Olin Building and Schaffer Library. Please bear with us as our much-anticipated, state-of-the-art Peter Irving Wold Center for Science & Engineering takes shape. Steel construction is expected to begin at the end of November and last for about a month. When completed, the three-story, 35,000 square-foot research and education facility will house space for interdisciplinary programs such as Biochemistry and Environmental Science and Engineering, a high performance computer lab, flexible incubator labs for leading edge interdisciplinary research, and more.
Other News From Campus
During the upcoming break between trimesters, our students will be busy working, doing internships, visiting friends at other colleges or just enjoying their time at home. Some students will participate in three-week mini-terms-- unique "on location" academic experiences-- in places such as Argentina, Egypt, India and New Orleans, to name just a few. Be sure to keep an eye out for our monthly e-newsletter to parents for more information on study abroad opportunities throughout the year.
